Jobs每天早上都会问镜子里的自己：If today were the last day of my life, would I wanna do what I am about to do today?” 这句话像一根细针，刺破了我们对时间会冲淡一切伤痛的幻想。他抗癌时更明白，当生命被按下倒计时，所有外界的喧嚣都会退去，只剩下最赤裸的追问：“我真正想把时间花在哪里？”
类似地，Gandalf的那句“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us”——时间从不是被动流逝的沙，而是等着我们亲手描摹的画布。Kennedy选择把人类的时间投向月球，“Not because they are easy, but because they are hard”，这和乔布斯退学后"decided to take a calligraphy class to learn how to do this"，其实是同一种勇气——拒绝让时间耗在安全的平庸里，偏要为热爱留一块地盘——换言之，主动走出自己的舒适区——“And do the next right thing”。
Mia在试镜室里反复打磨台词，Seb在空荡的酒吧里弹奏未完成的旋律，他/她们没算过这样值不值，只知道若是不这么做会留下遗憾；Anna在黑暗里唱:“Take a step, step again. It is all that I can to do”，哪怕看不清前路，也"Stumbling blindly toward the light"；这些画面都在呼应乔布斯的清醒:“And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.”
Kennedy推动登月计划时，无数人"do not now know what benefits await us"，可他看见的是"Well, space is there, and we’re going to climb it, and the moon and the planets are there, and new hopes for knowledge and peace are there"；Mia抱着原创剧本一次次被拒，却不肯改成市场喜欢的样子，“Here’s to the ones who dream. Foolish as they may seem. Here’s to the hearts that ache. Here’s to the mass we make.”
就像书法课的知识成就了Mac的字体，登月的勇气点亮了人类的星空，Mia的剧本终会找到懂它的舞台，Anna的每一步都在靠近——热爱的珍贵，珍贵的热爱，从不在当下有用，“You can only connect them looking backwards, so you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.”
《La La Land》结尾，Mia成了著名演员，Seb开了梦想中的爵士吧——他/她们并没能走到最后，却在Seb`s重逢时相视一笑——那些因热爱燃烧的时光，早已刻进彼此的生命，纵使别离也始终能在某个特定的时刻量子纠缠在一起；Anna在山洞中一步步前行，失去了Elsa，失去了Olaf，却从没失去"to do the next right thing"的勇气，她的行动里藏着和Jobs一样的韧性：热爱会带来失去，会带来懊悔，会带来疼痛，但只要内核还在，想必过去回忆的点点星光会映照未来的路，摔碎的碎片也并非不能拼出新的形状罢。
Jobs的演讲之所以动人，是因为他没讲大道理，只说了自己的故事：退学的迷茫，被解雇的疼痛，抗癌的恐惧，还有那些“傻傻坚持”的热爱。而Kennedy、Gandalf、Mia和Anna的故事，不过是让这些感受变得更具体——想必无论在硅谷、在月球、在Middle-earth，还是在L.A的街头与Arendelle的雪地里，人们都在做同一件事：在有限的时间里，带着热爱与勇气，认真活过每一刻。
