Shall I compare thee to a harbor’s dawn?
Thou art more vivid, more enduring far:
The river loops, a silken belt drawn on,
Hills knot like guards where tides and shadows are.
Sometimes the sun blazes o’er the quay,
Sudden rains dim the neon’s glow awhile;
骤雨忽然而至,暂暗霓虹轻耀;
Seasons shift with hasty urgency,
Yet thy lamps pierce the dark with steady smile.
Typhoons cannot steal thy bell tower’s chime,
Time fails to fade thy streets’ warm bustle dear;
岁月磨不灭街巷的暖意迢迢;
When mists cloak Victoria’s gentle climb,
Thy starlight dances on the waves so clear.
As long as tides kiss shore and stars take flight,
Thou liv’st in verse, forever bright.
